Cabin Filter

Cabin filters are particulate filters located within the vehicle’s HVAC system, typically behind the glove compartment or under the dashboard. These filters remove dust, pollen, and other airborne contaminants from air entering the passenger compartment. Media composition varies, ranging from basic polyester to multi-layer electrostatic or activated carbon designs for enhanced filtration and odor removal. Filter efficiency is rated using MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) or similar standards, indicating particle capture capability. Replacement is typically recommended at vehicle service intervals to maintain air quality and HVAC system performance.
