Mud Flaps

Mud flaps are semi-rigid covers mounted to the wheel wells of vehicles, primarily behind the tires. Their core function is to minimize spray from road debris – water, dirt, rocks, and salt – protecting the vehicle’s body, undercarriage, and adjacent vehicles. Constructed from durable, flexible materials like rubber, thermoplastic, or reinforced composites, they exhibit high abrasion resistance. Mounting utilizes vehicle-specific brackets or direct fastener engagement with chassis points. Effective designs incorporate sufficient length and curvature to maximize coverage while maintaining ground clearance and adhering to legal size limitations. Some variants feature textured surfaces to further disrupt spray and reduce noise.
