Blower Motor

Blower motors are centrifugal fans responsible for forced-air circulation through a vehicle’s HVAC system. Typically located within the HVAC housing, these motors draw ambient air across the heater core or evaporator core and distribute it through vents. Operation relies on an electric motor driving a multi-bladed fan wheel; speed is often controlled via PWM signal or resistor-based voltage reduction. Modern units frequently incorporate variable-speed functionality for enhanced comfort and efficiency. Failure modes include motor burnout, fan wheel damage, or control module malfunction, resulting in reduced or absent airflow.
