Power Supply

Power supplies provide regulated DC voltage to vehicle electronic control units (ECUs) and accessories, converting and stabilizing the vehicle’s nominal 12V or 24V supply. These units are typically integrated within the ECU itself, or housed as separate modules for high-current demands like infotainment or driver-assist systems. Key features include over-voltage/current protection, short-circuit shutdown, and often utilize switching regulator topologies for high efficiency. Modern power supplies increasingly incorporate digital control and communication protocols for diagnostics and monitoring. Components include rectifiers, filters, voltage regulators (linear or switching), and protective circuitry.
