Reflectors

Reflectors are passive optical elements used throughout vehicle lighting systems to redirect and intensify emitted light. Primarily found in headlamps, taillamps, and signal lamps, they utilize precisely shaped reflective surfaces – typically vacuum-metallized plastic or chrome plating – to achieve desired beam patterns and luminance. Surface geometry is critical, engineered to comply with photometric regulations for visibility and safety. Material selection balances reflectivity, durability, and weight reduction. Specialized coatings may further enhance performance or provide selective reflection/transmission characteristics.
