Dashboard components encompass the structural framework and integrated modules residing within the vehicle’s interior, forward of the occupant seating. These parts provide mounting for instrumentation, climate controls, safety systems (airbag deployment), and infotainment interfaces. Technically, dashboards are constructed from energy-absorbing materials – typically polypropylene or engineered composites – and designed to meet specific impact resistance standards. Wiring harnesses and associated connectors are integral, facilitating communication between vehicle systems and user interfaces. Modern dashboards increasingly integrate touch-sensitive controls and display screens utilizing LCD or LED technology.
