Bumpers and buffers are protective vehicle components mounted to the front and rear to mitigate impact forces during low-speed collisions. These assemblies typically consist of an energy-absorbing backing, a deformable cover, and mounting brackets secured to the vehicle’s frame rails. Covers are commonly manufactured from thermoplastic olefins (TPO), polyurethane, or steel for impact resistance and aesthetic integration. Reinforcements, often utilizing high-strength steel or aluminum extrusions, distribute impact loads and prevent deformation of underlying structural components.
