A radiator’s job is pretty straightforward – it cools down the engine. Engine combustion creates a lot of heat, and that heat needs to go somewhere. The radiator receives hot coolant from the engine – it's basically a network of really thin tubes and fins. Air flows over these fins – either from you driving or from the electric fans – and that airflow pulls the heat out of the coolant. The cooled coolant then cycles back to the engine to absorb more heat. It’s a continuous process. Think of the radiator as a key part of the whole cooling system.
