BMW 63126907489 Xenon Igniter
Description
The AIZDEDZES BLOKS is a Xenon Igniter used in
BMW's 760i and 760Li models, as well as the 745i and 745Li. It is responsible for igniting xenon lights on both the left and right sides of these vehicles.
Key Features & Benefits
This little guy takes the 12 – volt power from your car and boosts it to the really high voltage needed to actually start the xenon bulb. Think of it like a jump starter, but specifically for your HID headlights. It creates that initial arc of electricity inside the bulb to get it glowing. It doesn’t keep the bulb lit—that's the ballast’s job—just gets it going.
It sits between your ballast and the xenon bulb itself. Your car's electrical system sends power to the ballast, the ballast sends a super – charged signal to the igniter, and the igniter fires up the bulb. It's a crucial link in getting those bright HID lights working properly. Usually there’s one igniter per bulb, so if you have HID headlights, you’ll have two of these.
Symptoms, Risks & Replacements
If this goes bad, your headlight will likely just flicker or not turn on at all. It’s usually pretty obvious. You’ll notice if one side is out or just doesn’t seem as bright. It’s not something you can really ignore, because a non – working headlight is a safety issue, and can also get you a ticket. These can fail over time, or from just the heat cycles under the hood. Luckily, they aren’t too bad to replace. You can often find replacements pretty easily – we have a good selection at Fixparts Online, and other auto parts stores carry them too. It acts like a shield, protecting the rest of the system from the initial high voltage surge when you switch on your lights. If it fails, that surge could damage something else.
