It pushes on the fork that disengages the clutch, letting you shift gears. It’s filled with hydraulic fluid, and a piston inside it moves when that pressure comes in. It’s a pretty simple design, really. It’s a key part of your clutch system, working hand – in – hand with the master cylinder. Think of the master cylinder as the one telling the clutch to disengage, and the slave cylinder as the one doing the work.
