Description

This Wabco inductive sensor with plug is designed for use in brake control systems, specifically as an ABS sensor. It is intended for RVI applications and mounts via a bushing on the left side. This sensor is engineered to meet OE specifications, ensuring reliable performance and durability. It features an IP 68 protection class, making it resistant to dust and water ingress, and is rated for operation within a temperature range of -30°C to +85°C. The sensor dimensions are 48 x 278 x 207 mm, and it features a Radial version with an RVI-Plug electrical connection.

Key Features & Benefits

This sensor basically detects when a metal object gets close to it without actually needing to touch it. It sends out an electromagnetic field, and if metal disrupts that field, the sensor sends a signal. It’s an electronic switch, really, triggered by proximity. They're often used to confirm the position of something – like a gear tooth, or a rotating shaft. A lot of times these will trigger readings for things like wheel speed, or engine position. Now, in your vehicle, these sensors are often tied into the anti – lock braking system – that’s why you see it listed under ABS Sensors. They're telling the computer how fast each wheel is spinning. It can also be used in things like transmission control, or even to detect if a safety switch is engaged. Basically, it’s providing crucial data to the vehicle's computer so it can make decisions.

Symptoms, Risks & Replacements

If this sensor goes bad, the computer isn’t getting accurate information. You’ll likely see an ABS light on your dashboard, and your anti – lock brakes might not function correctly – that’s obviously a safety concern. Depending on where it’s located, you could also experience issues with your transmission shifting, or even engine performance. You’ll notice if it fails, because something related to its function will definitely start acting up. You can find these sensors pretty easily – Fixparts Online carries a good selection, and it's a good place to compare options. It's one of those parts that keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes, so when it goes, it’s noticeable. Product information is provided for reference only.
