About

Wabco 8997605104 Clamping Bush

Description

This Wabco clamping bush (MPN: 8997605104) is a crucial component used in securing ABS sensors within the drivetrain electronics system. Specifically designed for sensor applications, it provides a robust and reliable connection. This component is manufactured from CuBe material and adheres to OE specifications, ensuring compatibility and performance. It measures 4 x 30 x 13 mm, delivering a precise fit and stable connection for optimal sensor functionality.

Key Features & Benefits

This little rubber bush, it basically holds the ABS sensor securely in place on the vehicle. It doesn't do anything electrically, it's a mechanical part. It absorbs vibrations and keeps the sensor from rattling around, and it allows for a little bit of flex with suspension movement. Think of it like a cushion, or a shock absorber just for the sensor itself. It also keeps dirt and water from getting in around the sensor wiring. It's part of your Anti – lock Braking System, naturally. The ABS sensor reads the speed of each wheel and sends that info to the car’s computer. That computer uses it to prevent wheel lockup during braking. The bush doesn’t make the system work, but it makes sure the sensor can accurately read wheel speed. It's a small but critical supporting player.

Symptoms, Risks & Replacements

It’s important because if that bush deteriorates – and rubber always deteriorates over time, especially with heat and road salt – the sensor can move around. That movement can give you intermittent ABS faults, or even a constant ABS light on the dash. You’ll notice if it’s really bad – maybe a rough ride, or the ABS engaging when it shouldn’t. It’s cheap to replace, and much cheaper than dealing with ABS system problems or a potentially unsafe braking situation. We carry a good selection of them at Fixparts Online, and honestly, it's one of those parts I recommend replacing when you do brakes or suspension work just to be safe. It’s a little thing that can save you a headache later. Product information is provided for reference only. The part number and compatibility with your equipment are decisive when selecting the correct item.
